5 Medals for Leeds BJJ at the Dublin Open 🥇🥈🥉
What a weekend for leeds bjj
Four competitors from Scramble Academy Leeds made the trip across the water to compete at the Dublin Open — and we came home with five medals: 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze. For a small team travelling abroad, that’s an incredible return and a real testament to the level of jiu jitsu being developed here at Scramble Academy Leeds.
This wasn’t just a good day out. This was proof that the standard of leeds bjj is right up there when we step onto the international stage.
If you want to train with a team that competes, supports each other and performs under pressure, take a look at our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu programme here:
Taking Leeds BJJ to Ireland
Travelling to compete is always a different challenge. Early flights, unfamiliar venue, new opponents, long days. But our team handled it exactly how you’d hope experienced competitors would — calm, focused, and clinical.
Every single athlete stepped onto the mat representing leeds bjj with composure and grit. Matches were won by points, submissions, and sheer determination. Some were hard-fought battles that could have gone either way. That’s the nature of high-level competition.
What stood out most wasn’t just the medals — it was the performances.
This is what consistent training in a strong room does. This is what happens when you train in an environment where everyone pushes each other to improve every session.
You can experience that same training environment here:
Why Competing Matters (Even If You Don’t Compete)
You don’t have to want to compete to benefit from a competition-level gym.
When your coaches and teammates are actively testing themselves against other teams across the UK and Europe, the standard in the room rises for everyone.
- Sharper technique
- Better conditioning
- Realistic training intensity
- A culture of improvement
That’s what filters down into every single session of leeds bjj at Scramble Academy Leeds.
Even if your goal is fitness, confidence or learning self-defence, you benefit from being in a room where the jiu jitsu is proven under pressure.
